FANTASTIC NEWS from Auckland University. After the grave disappointment at the closure of the Continuing Education Department, it seems there has been a change of heart, and selected classes are to be offered again.
The first series for 2014 is MEDIEVAL MEDICINE: IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH. It began on the 3rd March and has a full class.
The second course will be MEDIEVAL FOOD: FEAST & FAST beginning on Friday 25th July 2014, 10-12pm at 1-11 Short Street on the City Campus.
Concurrently, there are four courses on the Selwyn College Campus.
They begin with Pt 1 of THE HISTORY OF FASHION, from the early days to the end of the Tudor Period, beginning on the 20th March 2-4pm.
Part 2 of the HISTORY OF FASHION covers the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th centuries and begins on the 17th July. Selwyn have offered a very generous discount for those wishing to book both parts. These courses are 4 weeks long.
They are followed by two 6 weeks courses: THE SECRETS OF SILK beginning on 21st August 2-4pm and THE SILK ROAD: TRADERS, TRAVELLERS AND THIEVES, also on a Thursday afternoon, 2-4pm beginning on the 20th November.
